Double ‘C’ 7, part 3

Now, that you’ve read parts 1 and 2, welcome on board to the end game of this drama based on true life events. The characters in this story have been kept the same to maintain authenticity . . . lol . . . Anyway, back to the story. So my brother got to the bus station and you would not believe what happened! We never expected it! We did not even consider that possibility! Did not take it into our calculations!

SOMEONE WAS SEATING ON THE EXACT SEAT UNDER WHICH I HAD STUCK THE BUS TICKET!

Who woulda thought, eh?! So he stood aside partially eye-balling the guy! Unfortunately, he did not have any of those mind-controlling X-men (Jean, Jason or Charles) powers to will the guy out of the seat. And again there were quite a few witnesses waiting for the same bus. Pressure! Pressure!! He now needed to execute this mission as covertly and quickly as possible.

Next thing you know, the bus comes, people get up to line up to board and he does the opposite – goes to sit down in the now vacated seat. Who does that, eh? Well, he does!! Any observant person may have thought he was waiting for another bus. So he sits down, reaches his right hand under the seat and . . . Voila! The ticket was there, just chilling for him, waiting for its rightful owner. (Say after me: no one will take my blessing in Jesus’ name. Amen!) At the same time, some other guy queuing to join the bus was being observant and looking at him wondering what he was doing putting his hand under the chair. And in my brother’s words, he looked back at the guy thinking “Oga! Dey your lane!” (In other tongues, “Mr Man, mind your own business!”)

Some of you reading this know that the Bible says “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23 v 7. So I can almost guarantee you that the thoughts of my brother’s heart and his facial expression would have been reading from the same lines, saying the same thing. Anyway, he picked up the ticket, joined the queue and successfully boarded the bus to me. When he got home and relayed the full story to me, I had a really good laugh. We immediately called the rest of the family and thoroughly enjoyed relaying to them our escape from £3.50. It was so humorous and also a blessing to do life together with siblings, with family!

I hope the full story made you smile, and even laugh too. And hopefully, it got you thinking that “all things are possible to him that believeth.” – Mark 9 v 23, maybe. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Little victories like this can be extended into the more life-changing, seeming impossibilities in our lives. Trusting GOD to lead us in the way we should to find our way through trying times should be at the centre of our thinking. And by the way, that applies to me in so many ways, maybe even in more ways than it does to you.
